When the Company Changes.
Fort Worth Rebranding for Mergers and Leadership Changes
New owners, a new partner or a company you just bought. Your customers notice the change before you announce it.
01 / What's at Stake
Mixed Signals Cost You Bids
A merger closes on paper in a day. Out in the field it takes years. One truck has the old logo, another has the new one. The website says one name and the proposal says another. An owner's rep looking you up can't tell if they're hiring the company they knew or one they've never heard of. That doesn't show up on a balance sheet. It shows up as a callback that never comes.
Two Websites, Two Stories
Separate sites, sometimes on separate domains, telling buyers different things. Duplicate Google Business Profiles competing with each other in Maps.
Documents on Old Templates
Proposals, SOQs, capability statements, letterhead and invoices still carrying the old name or the old look.
Trucks, Signs and Uniforms
Two styles on the same job site. Recruits and owners' reps can't tell which company they're dealing with.
02 / When This Fits
Something Changed
at the Top
- A merger. Two companies, two reputations, one name to settle on.
- An acquisition. You bought a company for its crews, contracts or territory, and now it has to look like it belongs to you.
- New ownership or succession. A founder steps back and the brand needs to show where the company is headed next.
- A division growing up. A service line that has outgrown the parent company and needs its own identity.
- A shift in who you sell to. Residential to commercial, or subcontracting to bidding direct.

Big agencies have layers. At Black Anchor, you work directly with me, Bobby Robinson, from discovery through the final written strategy. No junior team learning on your project.
03 / Audit
Start With What Each Company Has Today
I collect everything each company puts in front of buyers, recruits and the public: websites, Google listings, proposals, trucks and signs. Then I lay it all side by side so we can see exactly where the two stories split, and what to fix first.
04 / Legacy
Don't Throw Out What You Earned
Some names carry decades of trust in Tarrant County. Some don't. A rebrand that throws out a name people trust just to look current is a mistake, and I'll argue you out of it. Sometimes the right answer is the acquired company's name, not yours. Sometimes it's a "now part of" line for a year or two while customers catch up.
05 / Position
One Answer to "Who Are You Now?"
Both teams need to describe the company the same way. I write one clear position and the messaging behind it, so your office, your crews and your estimators can answer "who are you now and why should we hire you?" without a script.
06 / Identity
A Name, Logo and Style Guide Everyone Follows
Name, logo, colors and messaging built around the new position, plus a style guide your office can actually follow. Every proposal, truck wrap and job site sign comes from the same rules, so the merged company looks like one company from day one.
07 / Rollout
One Website, One Listing, One Company
I merge the websites into one and redirect the old domains page by page, so you don't lose the search rankings either company earned. Duplicate Google listings get merged or retired. Then you get a punch list for trucks, signs and documents, in the order that matters most to your buyers.
08 / Investment
Priced as a Package, Not by the Piece
Brand Strategy $7,500 · Brand Identity $7,500 · Both $13,500
Most transitions need both:
Brand Strategy to settle who the company is now, and
Brand Identity to make it look that way. The website to match is quoted by package on the pricing page. On a free 30-minute Zoom, I'll look at what each company uses today and tell you which pieces you actually need.
09 / Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Should we keep both company names after a merger?
Sometimes. If both names carry real trust with different customers, a combined name or a "now part of" line can carry you through the transition. If one name is clearly stronger, I'll tell you, even if it isn't yours.
-
Will we lose our Google rankings if we change our name or website?
Not if the move is handled right. I redirect the old domains page by page, merge or retire duplicate Google Business Profiles, and update your listings so search engines see one company instead of two.
-
Who do you work with on our side?
I work directly with the owner or one person they choose. In a merger, that person needs the authority to make calls for both companies, or decisions stall.
-
How long does a rebrand after an acquisition take?
It depends on how many websites, listings and documents are involved. After the audit, you get a written schedule with each phase dated, so your team knows what changes when.
-
Do you work outside Fort Worth?
Yes. I work with companies across Texas over Zoom. In-person meetings can be arranged for a fee.
10 / Client Testimonial
"We used Bobby for our landscape and irrigation business."
Bobby is great. As someone who isn't tech-savvy, Bobby walked me through what we were doing and broke it down into simpler terms for me. Everything Black Anchor has done has been super professional and clean. Besides the website, the Black Anchor team redid our logo, and it looks great. I cannot recommend them enough!
