REFUND Policy
Refund Policy Black Anchor Design, LLC — Updated September 2026
Overview: Black Anchor Design provides web design and development, branding, brand strategy, print design, and SEO services. This policy explains when payments are and are not refundable. It applies alongside the Payment Policy and the signed project contract. If anything here conflicts with a signed contract, the contract wins.
Client cancellation: Once work begins, payments are non-refundable. If you cancel a project after the start date, Black Anchor keeps all money paid to offset lost schedule and turned-away work. The 10% holding deposit is non-refundable from the moment it's paid, whether or not the project starts.
When Black Anchor can't deliver: If Black Anchor terminates a project, becomes unable to complete it, or the Dead Man's File is triggered, any prepaid amount for work not yet delivered is refunded. Delivered work is billed at the milestone rate in your contract; the balance is returned. See the Dead Man's File policy for how release and refund are handled if the principal is unavailable.
Hosting and domains: Hosting, domain registration, and renewal fees are paid to third parties on your behalf and are non-refundable once placed.
Scope of work: The signed contract defines the scope. Black Anchor may decline requests outside that scope or quote them separately. Keep a copy of your contract for reference.
Quality concerns: If a deliverable has a defect, tell us. Repairs to work that doesn't match the contract are made at no charge. Changes to work that does not match the contract are billed as additional work.
Chargebacks: Filing a chargeback or payment dispute immediately suspends all services, including hosting and access to project files, until the dispute is resolved. Contact us before disputing a charge — most billing questions can be resolved with one email.
Changes to this policy: Changes take effect when posted. The date at the top reflects the latest revision. Clients under an active contract are notified by email of any changes that affect their agreement.
Governing law: This policy is governed by the laws of Texas. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tarrant County, Texas.
