NON-DISCRIMINATION & CLIENT ENGAGEMENT POLICY Black Anchor Design, LLC

1. Purpose & Scope


This policy defines Black Anchor Design, LLC's commitment to equal treatment, inclusive business practices, and transparent client engagement. It applies to every person who interacts with Black Anchor Design in any capacity — employees, contractors, vendors, clients, and members of the general public.


This policy governs, without limitation, the following business activities:


  • Hiring, termination, and internal promotion decisions
  • Access to training and professional development opportunities
  • Client intake, service delivery, and contract engagement
  • Vendor and contractor selection
  • Subcontracting and third-party partnerships
  • Communications and interactions with the general public


2. Our Commitment to Inclusion


Black Anchor Design, LLC is a minority-owned creative agency based in Fort Worth, Texas. We are active contributors to the DFW design community and believe that great design is only possible in an environment built on respect, dignity, and equal access.

We actively advocate for minority communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and all underrepresented groups in the design and business landscape of Texas and beyond.


3. ADA & Digital Accessibility


Black Anchor Design, LLC designs and delivers digital products in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2, Level AA). We hold our own work — and the work we produce for clients — to accessibility standards that reflect the needs of all users.


This includes:


  • Sufficient color contrast ratios in all visual design work
  • Alt text and semantic structure in web deliverables
  • Keyboard navigability and screen reader compatibility
  • Accessible document formatting upon client request


Clients requiring ADA-compliant deliverables should specify this at project kickoff. Remediation of existing non-compliant materials may be scoped as a separate engagement.


4. Client Engagement Standards


We reserve the right to decline any engagement that conflicts with our values or creates legal, ethical, or reputational risk. The following categories fall outside our scope of services:


  • Organizations or individuals promoting racial supremacy, ethnic nationalism, or hate speech of any kind
  • Gambling operations, casinos, or sports betting platforms
  • Anti-government extremist groups or materials advocating violence against public institutions
  • Content targeting or denigrating specific religious groups
  • Organizations involved in, or credibly linked to, human trafficking, exploitation, or abuse
  • Projects likely to generate material public controversy or reputational harm to Black Anchor Design, LLC


This list is not exhaustive. Black Anchor Design, LLC reserves the sole discretion in client selection. Declination of a project on these grounds is not subject to negotiation.


5. Texas Law & Compliance


This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Black Anchor Design, LLC operates in compliance with the following frameworks:


  • Texas Labor Code, Chapter 21 — Texas Commission on Human Rights Act
  • Texas Business & Commerce Code — governing commercial contracts and service agreements
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
  • FTC Act, Section 5 — governing unfair or deceptive business practices


Nothing in this policy creates an employment relationship, partnership, or joint venture with any client or vendor. Disputes arising from this policy or from services rendered by Black Anchor Design, LLC are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tarrant County, Texas.


6. Intellectual Property & Ownership

All creative work produced by Black Anchor Design, LLC — including designs, code, copy, brand assets, and strategic deliverables — remains the intellectual property of Black Anchor Design, LLC until full payment is received and a written assignment of rights is executed.


Standard terms unless otherwise contracted:


  • Client receives a license to use the final deliverables upon full payment
  • Source files and working assets remain the property of Black Anchor Design, LLC, unless explicitly purchased
  • Black Anchor Design, LLC retains the right to display completed work in its portfolio
  • Unauthorized reproduction, resale, or modification of deliverables without written consent is a violation of applicable federal copyright law


7. Reporting & Accountability


Any employee, contractor, client, or vendor who believes this policy has been violated may report the concern directly to ownership:

Reports will be reviewed promptly and in good faith. Retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited.


8. Policy Review & Updates


This policy is reviewed annually and updated as required by changes in applicable law, business operations, or community standards. The current version supersedes all prior editions.
