DMCA Policy
Updated October 29, 2026
Overview
This policy explains how Black Anchor Design, LLC handles copyright infringement notices about content on blackanchordesign.com, and how to send us one. We respond promptly to clear notices that meet the requirements of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Before you file a notice
Consider whether the use might be fair use. Under fair use, brief excerpts of copyrighted material can sometimes be quoted for purposes like commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, and research without permission from the copyright holder.
If you aren't sure the material actually infringes your rights, you may want to talk with an attorney before filing. The DMCA requires your contact details in every notice. If that's a privacy concern, you can have an agent file on your behalf.
What your notice must include
If you own a copyright, or are authorized to act for the owner, and believe material on this site infringes it, send a written notice that includes:
- The copyrighted work you believe was infringed, or a representative list if there are several
- The material you believe is infringing, with the URL of each page where it appears
- Your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you're authorized to act for the copyright owner
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works)
What happens next
We review every notice for accuracy and completeness. If it meets the DMCA's requirements, we may remove or restrict access to the material. If we do, we'll make a good-faith effort to contact whoever provided it.
We may decline to act on notices that don't meet the DMCA's requirements. This process doesn't limit any other remedies available to us.
Changes to this policy
Changes take effect when posted, and the date at the top shows the latest revision. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
