Howdy, Folks

I'm Bobby Robinson

I’m a husband, father, dog owner, and Christian living in Fort Worth, Texas. When I’m not working, I like hunting, fishing, going to the gun range, listening to live music, watching movies, enjoying good coffee, and cheering for our local teams. Go Mavs! I also collect whiskey from around the world and never miss a chance to travel.

I was born to military parents on a U.S. base overseas and spent much of my childhood moving from base to base. In 1994, my family settled in Springtown, Texas, where my father’s family has lived for five generations. Growing up on our family ranch taught me the value of hard work, responsibility, and seeing things through.

I started my creative career at 15 in a small graphics shop, making decals and signs for the City of Fort Worth. Later, I worked at a marketing agency in Los Angeles, where I helped develop projects for brands such as Disney, Nokia, Coca-Cola, DreamWorks, Cold Stone Creamery, and the Dallas Mavericks. My resume includes corporate work with Sprint, Pontiac, Streetwise, and Texas Refinery.

I studied graphic and web design at The Art Institutes in Dallas and Pittsburgh. I also took courses in computer science, data analytics, and business at Texas Wesleyan, and recently earned an AI engineer certification.

After spending over 20 years in the corporate world, I left in 2015 to run Black Anchor Design full-time. Now, I manage daily operations, work closely with clients, and lead the creative direction for every project. I especially enjoy helping business owners clarify their ideas, solve real problems, and build brands and digital tools that help their businesses grow.

I only take on a few projects each year, focusing on work that matches my values, interests, and standards. If you want to work together or invite me to speak, please reach out.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is Bobby Robinson?

Bobby Robinson is the Principal and Founder of Black Anchor Design, and the person who does the work on every project — strategy, design, build, and SEO.

He started in a graphic design shop in 1995, served in the military from 1999 to 2003, and has spent the 31 years since in design, branding, and web strategy. Along the way, he's worked with national brands including Disney, Coca-Cola, Nokia, DreamWorks, and the Dallas Mavericks.

He founded Black Anchor Design in Fort Worth in 2009 and has run it full-time since 2015, building custom websites for construction, trades, municipal, and service companies across Texas — the complex projects that don't fit a template. He's a Certified Shopify Partner, a 2023 graduate of the Dallas Mavericks business cohort, and a recipient of a U.S. Senate Certificate of Commendation for accessibility advocacy.

He grew up a military brat with deep roots in Parker County, and he'll tell you that's why he works the way he does: show up, do the job right, and don't hand it off.

  • How did Bobby Robinson start Black Anchor Design?

Bobby started Black Anchor Design with a vision to help local businesses in Fort Worth stand out in the digital world. His entrepreneurial journey began with a passion for design and a desire to offer businesses tailored digital solutions to grow and thrive online.

  • What is Bobby Robinson's mission?

To give construction, trades, and municipal organizations the kind of web strategy that's usually reserved for companies ten times their size — and to do it personally, without handing the work off.

Most of the businesses that build Texas are running websites built from templates by people who've never set foot on a job site. Bobby's work exists to fix that. Every project starts with strategy, not a layout: who the client's buyers are, what they need to see to pick up the phone, and how the site has to be built to earn that call. Then he builds it himself, so nothing gets lost between the plan and the finished product.

The rest of the mission is how the work is done. Clients own their domains and files from day one. Accessibility is built in, not bolted on. Pricing is on the website. And when something isn't a good idea, Bobby says so before the client pays for it.

  • How does Bobby Robinson lead Black Anchor Design?

Bobby leads every engagement personally — no handoffs, no middlemen. His approach is rooted in clear communication, creative precision, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Clients work directly with Bobby from discovery through launch, ensuring the final product truly reflects their vision and business goals.

  • How can I get in touch with Bobby Robinson?

Book a free 30-minute Zoom call through the website — that's the fastest way to get a real conversation on the calendar, and you'll be talking to Bobby, not a sales rep.

You can also email hello@blackanchordesign.com or call (817) 818-7708 during business hours: Monday through Wednesday, 9 to 5; Thursday and Friday, 10 to 3; closed weekends and federal holidays.

The Fort Worth office at 2833 Crockett St., Suite 502 is by appointment only.

Existing clients with a maintenance or update request should use the support ticket system on the website rather than email. That keeps every request tracked and ensures the 6-hour response window is met.

  • What types of businesses does Bobby typically work with?

Construction, trades, and municipal organizations across DFW and Texas — general contractors, roofers, utility and site-work companies, landscape architects, and the cities and agencies they build for. The common thread is a business that sells expertise and reliability to a buyer who's about to spend real money and needs a website that reflects that.

Within that, Bobby gravitates toward the projects that don't fit a template: historic restorations, schools, municipal facilities, civic buildings, sports facilities, churches. When the work is outside the standard playbook, the website has to be too.

He also works with service and professional businesses that share the same shape — investment firms, real estate developers, industrial product companies — where the buyer does their homework before making a call, and the site has to hold up to it.

  • Has Bobby worked with businesses in my industry before?

If you're in construction, trades, or municipal work, almost certainly. That's been the core of Black Anchor's client base since 2009, and the work section on this site shows the range — roofing and storm restoration, utility construction, landscape architecture, real-estate development, and the public entities those companies build for.

If you're outside that world, the honest answer is: maybe not, and it may not matter. What Bobby brings to a project isn't a stack of templates from your industry — it's 31 years of figuring out how a specific buyer makes a specific decision, and building a site around that. Industry knowledge takes a few conversations to acquire. Strategy takes decades. On the first call, he'll tell you plainly whether he's the right fit or point you somewhere better.

  • What awards and recognition has Bobby received?

The one he'd mention first isn't a design award. In 2021, Black Anchor Design received a United States Senate Certificate of Commendation from the office of Senator Ted Cruz, recognizing the company's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in design — work that makes websites usable for people with disabilities, not just people with perfect vision and a mouse.

On the industry side, Black Anchor has been named to IBTimes' 2025 Best Web Design Companies in Fort Worth, ranks on Clutch's Top Design Agencies in Fort Worth, and carries Expertise.com's 2025 designations for Best Web Designer, Best Web Developer, and Best Digital Marketing Agency. Earlier recognition includes the 2018 Lux Designer Awards, a Best of 2019 Web Design Agency award, DesignRush rankings across web design, branding, and development, and a 2023 Investopedia Top Advertising Agency listing. Bobby is also a Certified Shopify Partner and a 2023 graduate of the Dallas Mavericks business cohort.

What doesn't change is how a project runs. Awards are a decent signal that someone knows the craft. The better signal is the work on this site and the clients who'll take your call about it.

Client Testimonial

"Bobby and his team at Black Anchor are the REAL DEAL."

We gave them a strict deadline for our new website, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Our website looks incredible, and we are already getting some great feedback from clients. I CANNOT RECOMMEND BOBBY AND HIS TEAM ENOUGH. Don't waste your time with anyone else.
