Why are most creatives introverted and crave solitude?

As an extrovert myself, I never had to deal with the intense emotions of crippling anxiety that comes with being an introvert. We assume creatives live a fully balanced and social life. Most creative minds are introverted and find peace, craving solitude, and the company of just themselves. It’s not that they are not trying hard enough, or they have unlikable qualities. It’s fascinating the amount of scientific research to the creative community. Science states loneliness is a genetic trait and that it can be mostly circumstantial.
That there are extensive scale social changes going on that will trigger loneliness in vulnerable people, but we don’t recognize any of that. There is some evidence, though, that feelings of loneliness are genetic when researchers administered the UCLA Loneliness Scale to the same people over 25-30 years.
Introverts default is home alone. It’s easy and convenient away from large crowds and especially if they are feeling the least bit insecure. Staying home alone almost always seems more comfortable and more appealing than getting out there among superficial connections, where we may or may not have fun. But too much staying home can start eroding our self-image, which causes more a person to recluse from society, which may lead to the loneliness that sometimes leads to suicide.
Many introverts tend to process things so thoroughly that they feel quite particular about the conclusions they reach. When it comes to the health of the Earth, both attitudes are necessary. Simply introverts can generate new ideas, make plans, and help quietly. Extroverts can implement those plans, think quickly on their feet, and make use of their high energy.
“We work in the dark – we do what we can – we give what we have.
Our doubt is our passion, and our love is our task. The rest is the madness of art.”
